My Dream Made Me Different.

They say that you are a reflection of the company that you keep. If you have enablers in your circle; distractions, gossip, and, negativity will repeatedly flow in your life. If you keep prosperous individuals around; the ones who challenge themselves on a daily basis..you’ll inspire one another. Surround yourself with nine millionaires and you’re bound to be the 10th.

Although we live in a world that is obsessed with instant success..success doesn’t come overnight, nor is it luck. Not only is it late nights and early mornings; but cancelling plans, separating yourself from family and friends, and experiencing isolation at times. Once you understand that everyone is not meant for your journey; everyone is not a part of the assignment on your life, this will sound a lot less harsh to you. I was once blind to the fact that I was positioning people in my life, in places where they didn’t have the capabilities, or the makeup to even be placed at. When it comes to my destiny, that’s something that I don’t play about. I can no longer live any type of way, knowing that I have an assignment on my life.

A dream will make you different. And the more God like that you become, the more you will separate from culture as well. You’ll start talking differently, partying differently, texting, and thinking differently. You’ll hear the famous, “you’re not fun anymore,” or the “you changed,” line; those are just some of the people to reposition. Enablers. Change is good. Change is refreshing. Change is healthy. Change is necessary to get to where you want to be. You must be careful of things in your life that weaken your “why.” That goes for people, environments, opportunities, money, power; anything that you may idol.

When it comes to your destiny, know how to order people in your life. Both, friends and family. Not everybody can be in your top three. And you will never be great until you master this skill of treating people like chess pieces. During one season in your life, a particular person may need to be close by; but as you transition into the next season, that same individual may need to be placed away for a period of time. It’s upsetting to know that some people may never understand this, nor think that it is okay.

If you’re not careful you can easily be conformed to the patterns of this world, rather than transformed by the renewal of your mind. With that being said, at times we just need small “time-outs” from life. And people. For this reason, I will never feel bad for being selfish with my time, and choosing to take authority over my life. My personal happiness is a priority. Quit dumbing down who you are meant to be, for others. It is alright to stand out; to know who you are, and to be an individual with hope and a vision.

At the end of the day..who is it that is looking back at you in the mirror? The only opinion that should matter is yours. Ask yourself if you’re happy with that person you see in the mirror. There are many famous people in this world, who lack peace. If there’s no peace, I don’t want it. Take a second to think what success means to you? When can a person claim that they are “successful?” By making a lot of money in this world? There’s no way. I would judge success by the degree that I have peace, good health, and love. Success to me is walking in my purpose; feeling fulfilled when I wake up in the morning, knowing there is a purpose to the day ahead of me. I would truly hate to be rich, and miserable. That is why it’s important to me to not only follow my dream, but to discover why I was created. In other words; my purpose and God’s will. Walking in my purpose is when I feel most alive. Let me say that again..walking in my purpose is when I feel most alive; not doing what others expect me to do. Which is why it’s okay to be selfish with your time, space, and energy when it comes to your dream.

We can have things and moments in time, but we can’t have it all at the the same time. It’s impossible. I am learning to embrace moments, and prepare for the next phase of my life, when I can have more and something different. As I have this desire to conquer my goals; I can no longer surround myself with the same people I was partying with on a weekend basis. At this moment in my life, I need a time-out from the fun. As I am trying to grow my relationship with God; at this moment in my life I can no longer stay in a relationship outside of marriage, and continue having sex. We cannot have it all at the same time.

I just want to say this blessed me. It’s so encouraging and amazing to see Him working in others lives & instilling the same message. It’s just so clear we’re called to greater works & we can’t get caught up in the “culture” or the ways of the world, we have to be that salt. I’m glad I clicked on this blog, thank you & keep putting Him first ❤️🙌🏽
